Can I register for business texting without a website?

Often, yes. Registration asks for a website or a public page that shows who your business is. What matters is that a reviewer can open it and see your business. Here is what works, what does not, and what to do if you have neither.

If you have a website, use it

Start with your existing business website. It should be live, open without signing in, and show your business name and how to reach you. A site that is unpublished, password-protected, or a generic placeholder cannot be reviewed.

No website? A public profile may work

A public business page, such as a Facebook business page, may be accepted when it clearly shows your business name and contact information and anyone can view it without an account.

  • It must be public. A private or friends-only profile cannot be reviewed.
  • It must be published. A page that is not live yet, or is hidden, will not do.
  • It must be about your business, not an unrelated page or a directory listing for many businesses.

Neither? Publish a Handled verification page

If you have no website and no suitable public profile, Handled can publish a simple page with your business details. You choose what appears, review it, and press publish. Nothing is public until you do.

  • It shows your business name, a short description you write, and ways to contact you.
  • Your street address appears only if you turn it on.
  • It is not your website. It has no booking, chat, or messaging.
  • You can update it or take it down any time.

Publishing the page does not submit your registration. It puts the page's address in the website field so you can check it, then submit when you are ready.

No option guarantees approval

Carriers and their reviewers decide. A good public page and accurate details make a review easier, but none of the options above promises it will be accepted. If a registration is rejected, the reason tells you what to correct, and you can resubmit.

Common questions

Is my Facebook page enough?
It may be, if it is a public business page that shows your business name and contact information and can be viewed without signing in. A private profile or a page that is not published is not reviewable.
Can I use a page that is still being built?
No. A page that is not live, is behind a login, or is a placeholder cannot be reviewed. Wait until it is published.
If I use the Handled verification page, will my registration be approved?
Not necessarily. The page gives a reviewer an accurate, public place to confirm who you are. Carriers make the decision, and no option guarantees approval.
